Christian Slater كريستيان سلاتر
من مواليد (نيويورك) لأبوين أحدهما ممثل والأخرى وكيلة مواهب ومنتجة. بدأ “سلاتر” مسيرته الفنية على خشب مسارح (برودواي)؛ وكانت تجربته الأولى في عام 1980 في العرض الجديد لـThe Music Man أمام النجم المخضرم الراحل “ديك فان دايك”، وأعقبه بعروض أخرى مثل Copperfield, وMacbeth.
في عام 1985، جاء الظهور الأول الحقيقي لـ”سلاتر” على شاشات السينما بدور رئيسي في فيلم The Legend of Billie Jean؛ الذي لم يحقق وقتها النجاح الجماهيري المتوقع له؛ إلا أنه صار مع الزمن أحد الأفلام المهمة والتي تحظى بحب جماهيري كبير، وفي العام التالي شارك النجم المخضرم “شون كونري” بطولة فيلم The Name of the Rose.
بعد عدد من الأعمال التالية؛ بلغ “سلاتر” درجة جديدة من الشهرة عام 1989 عندما شارك النجمة “وينونا رايدر” بطولة فيلم Heathers؛ والذي صار هوسًا للمراهقين وقتها.
في عام 1991؛ شارك “سلاتر” النجم “كيفين كوستنر” بطولة فيلم Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves، والذي حقق نجاحًا كبيرًا وقت عرضه، فأصبح “سلاتر” أحد نجوم الفئة الأولى في هوليوود، وجاء حبه لسلسلة Star Trek ليجعله يقبل دورًا صغيرًا في فيلم .Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
بدأ “سلاتر” في التفكير بعدها في تغيير نوعية الأفلام التي يشارك بها؛ فقام في عام 1993 بمشارك النجمة “ماريسا تومي” بطولة الفيلم الرومانسي Untamed Heart وأعقبه بفيلم الجريمة True Romance؛ الذي نال إشادات كبيرة من النقاد.
بعد وفاة صديقه الممثل “ريفر فينكس”؛ وافق “سلاتر” على المشاركة أمام النجوم “توم كروز” و”براد بيت” في فيلم Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles؛ متبرعًا بأجره إلى المؤسسات الخيرية.
ورغم النجومية المبكرة لسلاتر إلا إنه كان دائم التصرف بمشاغبة، الأمر الذي أدى إلى حبسه العديد من المرات أعوام 1989 و1994 و1997 و2005.
